EstremoLemboEst.com S.r.l. was my first communications company, on the occasion of an event I held in my town, “Salento Ama l’Arte”, and that year, the Mayor of my town Vittorio Poti’, elected me Man of the Year 2010 King of Communication. I have always chosen the names of my companies with the domain name. It is very important to have your own brand domain. The slogan of this company was “Only quality Salento”. I wanted to promote my land. I had good ideas, but unfortunately they were not understood. Everyone complimented me on my work, but in reality they did not understand what I wanted to do. My goal has always been to deseasonalize tourism and I have always been convinced that only with the power of the Web can this be done. But I was not understood and the compliments were of little use; they were appreciated, but that was not what I needed. Maybe it’s true, I’m the one who’s wrong; I’ve always had somewhat megalomaniac ideas, but that’s just the way I am. I like difficult challenges. To deseasonalise tourism, you have to work on the local brand and put it online. Only in this way can the name of a land reach far and wide in the world, and only in this way can a land make itself known everywhere on the planet. Today, from here in Oxford , where I’ve lived for five years, I’m facing more difficult challenges than before, but with the same goal as always. I think I have more experience and I also have the right tools, but today I’m looking for valid partners, people who love big challenges. When you have a big project in mind, you can’t talk about it with friends; you have to make a serious selection, you have to look for valid people, and you also have to invent strategies for how to find these people. I hope I can do it; five years in England have enriched my knowledge of communication, image, and web marketing. Every day at work I’ve looked at every advertisement, but here the system is different, here is real advertising. Today I continue to pursue that dream that I study in solitude without being judged by anyone. Maybe one day it will come, or maybe it will never come, but I will never give up in the face of impossible things.
