Welcome Ladies ! On this page I’ll tell you a little about:
Chanel is luxury at its best. The most famous fashion house in the world was created in 1910 in Paris, by a legendary woman, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel. Today the brand, famous for its little black dresses, has not only women’s fashion line, but also cosmetics and sports equipment, and of course, perfume, distributed all over the globe. The yearly revenue of the company is more than 10 billion USD.
Meaning and history
The Chanel logotype is a celebration of the brand’s roots and heritage, which has never been changed since the day of its introduction in 1910. The simple yet bold wordmark in black-and-white was placed on all the fashion items, created by the iconic designer, and stood for elegance, comfort, and chic.
The Chanel logo we all know today is composed of two parts, its logotype and an emblem, which can be used together or separately, but however it is, they make up the most recognizable fashion badge of all times.
1910 – Today

We do know, that he first Chanel store was opened in Paris in 1910, however, the official story of the brand’s iconic logo only starts in 1925. The “CC” monogram” was designed specifically for the legendary Chanel No. 5 perfume. And only since 1926, it began to be applied to all products of the brand. It was an emblem with two intertwined mirror letters “C”, which according to the most common opinion simply symbolizes the last name of the designer, Chanel, and her nickname, Coco. However, it’s a little more complicated and interesting than that.
The logo is actually based on the story of the great designer’s difficult childhood. Not many know, that the most famous designer in the world, Gabrielle Chanel, spent most of her childhood not in a happy loving family and warm home, but in an orphanage. And together with other orphans she often went to pray in the chapel of the Aubazine monastery. Young Coco then admired the beautiful stained glass windows in the chapel, and especially one geometric pattern on them. This was that exact pattern that inspired the iconic CC logo.
In the history of Chanel, the logo has never been significantly changed. And only twice in all the years of the brand’s existence have light additions been made to it. Thus, in 1940s under the monogram began to place uppercase logotype in a clean lightweight sans-serif font. And in 1950s a thin round frame was added to the monogram. This version is still used by the brand today, but only for the cosmetics and perfume line.
Symbol

The iconic Chanel symbol was created at the very beginning of the fashion house, as a reflection of the main Gabriele Chanel principles: comfort, geometry, and clean lines.
The symbol is composed of two mirrored and intertwined letters “C”, standing for “Coco Chanel”, enclosed in a thin circular frame. All elements are ideally balanced and have their distinct contours clean and neat, evoking a sense of harmony and perfection in shapes, spacing, and style.
Since 1925 the symbol has been placed on every bottle of the Chanel perfume, and a year later — it became an inevitable part of every fashion house’s collection, which can be seen on prints, bags, and jewelry, with or without its circular outline.
Font and color

The custom Chanel logotype, set in all capitals with bold clean lines, is executed in a traditional sans-serif typeface, which is pretty close to such fonts as Double Porter 3, RoundCut Bold, and ITC Blair’s Pro Bold, but with some of the lines modified.
The monochrome palette of the Chanel logo can be used both in traditional and reverse versions — with black lettering and emblem on a white background, or white inscription written on black. Both options represent elegance, beauty, and power.
Logo Earrings

In addition to exquisite perfumes and perfectly cut clothes, the Chanel fashion house is famous for its jewelry collection. And at the top of the wish list of fashionistas from all over the world are undoubtedly, the Chanel CC earrings, where the design is built around the legendary CC monogram. And it just goes to show that the Chanel logo is not only a trademark, but also an element of refined style and luxury.
Chanel CC earrings are the most iconic and recognizable motif. The simple design remains unchanged every season, occasionally acquiring new additional elements. Whether they are simple and laconic clips made of precious metals, or pearl-adorned earrings, — they always look incredibly luxurious and refined, and don’t need to be explained.
The Chanel logo has long been a symbol of simplicity and elegance, being a kind of confirmation of the main philosophy of the brand. When it is used to create Chanel Logo Earrings, the logo takes on a more chic look and epitomizes glamour and wealth.
Logo Necklace

The Chanel logo with two intertwined initials “CC” represents neatness and brevity, however, in the jewelry collection of the famous fashion house, it acquires other meanings such as sophistication, luxury, and elegance.
In addition to the luxurious and coveted Chanel CC earrings, “those who understand” also queue up for long chains decorated with one or more CC monograms, chokers, and other necklaces, which can also be made only in silver or gold, or decorated with semi-precious stones, or simply timeless pearls.
By the way, the favorite jewelry piece of Coco Chanel, who adored minimalistic elegance, has always been a simple and laconic string of pearls. That is why the most iconic Chanel CC necklaces are created with pearls.
Font and Color
The iconic logotype from the primary Chanel badge is set in the uppercase of a bold modern sans-serif typeface with stable characters written in clean lines, straight cuts, and distinctive contours. The closest fonts to the one, used in the Chanel insignia, are, probably, Rexton Bold, Brimstone Display, or Tapas Sans.
As for the color palette of the Chanel visual identity, here the legendary fashion house follows the most common trend in the industry, using a simple and timeless combination of black and white, which looks extremely powerful and elegant on these stable modern shapes of the elements.
When was the Chanel logo designed?
The iconic Chanel logo was designed in 199 and has never been changed since that time. For some special collections, the CC monogram with the uppercase sans-serif wordmark in bold distinctive lines can be accompanied by some graphical elements or framing, but the core of the badge always remains the same.
Why Chanel logo is “CC”?
The “CC” monogram on the logo of the French fashion house stands for the initials of the fashion house’s founder, Gabrielle Coco Chanel. Coco was her nickname, which Gabrielle received while singing in cabaret, due to her small height and birdie figure.
